Partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-80s are in the Long Island forecast Sunday with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8 p.m. before Monday brings a washout, according to the National Weather Service.
The low Sunday night will dip to about 68 degrees with southeast winds close to 8 mph.
Monday brings a 90% chance of thunderstorms and a high of 80. Nearly three-quarters of an inch of rain is forecast, the weather service said. More showers and thunderstorms are predicted for Monday night with a low of 68.
On Tuesday, there’s a 50% chance of showers after 11 a.m. on an otherwise mostly sunny day with a high of 84. Overnight, there’s a 30% chance of showers and a low of 67.
Wednesday and Thursday are looking mostly sunny with highs about 88 and lows at night of 70, according to the weather service.
Friday’s high should hit 90 with a mix of sun and clouds and an overnight low of 70.
